Our trip to Zion National Park was nothing short of spectacular—a blend of adventure, natural beauty, and the kind of relaxation that only comes from being fully immersed in the outdoors. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this destination would deliver experiences worth every minute and every penny.

Exploring the Park on E-Bikes

Renting e-bikes turned out to be one of the best decisions of the entire trip. It was a phenomenal way to get around the park, letting us breeze along the scenic roads while taking in the towering red cliffs and peaceful stretches of forested trails. With the fresh air in our faces and the freedom to stop whenever a breathtaking view appeared—and that happened often—e-biking became both a convenient and exhilarating way to explore Zion.

The Narrows: A Hike Like No Other

Of all the unforgettable moments, hiking The Narrows stands out as something truly magical. Wading between sheer canyon walls with the river running at our feet felt like stepping into another world. We were especially impressed by the gear we rented; it kept us warm and dry the entire time, making the experience comfortable despite the chilly water. The combination of adventure, beauty, and surreal atmosphere made The Narrows one of the highlights of the trip.

Angels Landing: Worth Every Step

And then there was Angels Landing—the iconic trail that earns its reputation with every steep ascent and breathtaking overlook. The climb was challenging but entirely worth it. Reaching the summit and looking out over the sweeping views of Zion Canyon was a moment of pure awe. It’s the kind of hike that imprints itself on your memory and leaves you feeling both humbled and triumphant.

The Charm of Springdale

Just outside the park, the town of Springdale added its own special touch to the trip. We loved the welcoming atmosphere, charming shops, and especially the great places to eat after long days of exploring. Whether it was grabbing a hearty meal or simply strolling through town, Springdale provided the perfect balance of comfort and character.

A Trip to Remember

Looking back, this trip to Zion was everything we hoped for—beautiful, relaxing, and filled with incredible moments. From the scenic e-bike rides to the unforgettable hikes and the small-town charm of Springdale, every part of the journey left us grateful and inspired. It’s a destination that stays with you long after you’ve returned home, and one we’d happily revisit in a heartbeat.

Imagine hosting your next corporate retreat, milestone celebration, or leadership gathering in the heart of a national park, with the Golden Gate Bridge as your backdrop. Presidio Lodging now offers the ultimate in exclusivity with full-property buyouts at its boutique hotels, creating one-of-a-kind group experiences that combine privacy, natural beauty, and historic charm.

With capacity for up to 200 guests across the Lodge at the Presidio and the Inn at the Presidio, buyouts allow companies and groups to take over both properties, transforming them into private retreats. Both hotels are LEED Gold–certified, ensuring a stay that is as environmentally responsible as it is memorable.

The Best View in San Francisco
Perched on the edge of the Presidio, the Lodge at the Presidio boasts what many consider the best views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Guests wake up to sweeping vistas of the bridge, the San Francisco Bay, and the forested parklands, setting an inspiring stage for both work and play.

Value Meets Exclusivity
Unlike large resort buyouts that may be out of reach, Presidio Lodging’s intimate scale makes exclusive experiences more financially viable for a wide range of organizations. From leadership off-sites to company-wide retreats, groups benefit from an unmatched blend of value and prestige.

Meet in a National Park — Partner Venues Within Steps
In addition to Presidio Lodging’s boutique meeting rooms, groups also have access to a network of partner venues across the Presidio, including:

  • Golden Gate Club — Up to 300 guests; Spanish Colonial Revival elegance with indoor-outdoor spaces and sweeping bridge views.

  • Outdoor Lawn Venues — From an intimate fireside gathering to a party for 6,000, the Presidio’s outdoor spaces are glorious.

  • Presidio Officers’ Club — Historic event halls and courtyards ideal for retreats and receptions.

  • Log Cabin — Rustic charm and a private lawn for intimate gatherings.

  • Presidio Golf Course Clubhouse & Tented Terrace — Ideal for dinners, receptions, or outdoor events with lush golf course views.

  • Funston House & Inn Meeting Rooms — Smaller historic homes and board-style meeting spaces for breakouts or executive sessions.

  • Presidio Bowling Center — A retro-style bowling alley and lounge, perfect for team-building, casual gatherings, and after-hours fun.

  • The Presidio Theatre — Theatre seating for 600, with outdoor garden and lower lobby for receptions.

  • The Walt Disney Family Museum — With a variety of spaces to accommodate from 100-300 guests.

This ecosystem of venues allows planners to fully customize programs, from strategic sessions to outdoor team-building and unforgettable celebrations, with Presidio Lodging as a restful home-base.

Case Studies in Success

Groups such as Praxis have embraced the buyout model, reserving both properties for multi-day programs that incorporate meetings, curated dinners, and outdoor experiences, fully utilizing the Presidio’s blend of history, nature, and community.

Miller Starr Regalia, a well-established real estate law firm, also hosted a successful corporate retreat for all office staff and their spouses at the Lodge at the Presidio. The weekend buyout retreat was intended to be more of a relaxing getaway and teambuilding, with minimal programming in order to allow the attendees the opportunity to connect with nature and each other.

Lodging Amenities

Both the Lodge at the Presidio and the Inn at the Presidio sport lobbies with cozy fireplaces and outdoor fire pits, which provide gathering spaces all year-around. Both properties offer complementary European-style, continental breakfast each morning and wine and cheese hour in the evening, and nearby restaurants provide dining or catering options.

A Destination That Tells a Story

“There’s simply nothing like hosting a meeting at the Presidio. Where else can you step out of a strategy session and be greeted by sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge, trails through a national park, and the history of San Francisco all around you? Our hotels and partner venues create an inspiring backdrop where ideas flow, teams connect, and memories are made. It’s the perfect blend of exclusivity, natural beauty, and city sophistication,” comments Terry Haney, Managing Director of Presidio Lodging.

Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens invites guests to embark on a whimsical adventure with its new display, “All Aboard for Holiday Bells and Whistles” on view through January 3, 2026. Brought to life by renowned designer Ed Libby and Bellagio’s talented Horticulture team, the Conservatory transforms into a dazzling train-inspired wonderland to celebrate the timeless joy of coming home for the holidays. Adding to the experience, the Peppermint Express returns with treats baked by Bellagio’s pastry chefs, while The Garden Table makes its holiday debut, offering guests an exclusive dining experience.

“When designing this display, our goal was to capture the twinkle, nostalgia and pure enchantment that make this special time of year so extraordinary,” said Libby. “This year’s exhibit invites guests on a heartwarming journey that celebrates the magic of travel, the warmth of connection and the breathtaking beauty of the holidays.”

West Bed
At the heart of the West Bed, a Swarovski star crowns a majestic tree dressed in thousands of miniature LED lights and ornaments. Beneath it, the Peppermint Express miniature train chugs merrily around the tree trunk, complete with a live-feed camera that allows guests to watch its journey in real time. To the left, a festive train overflows with beautifully wrapped gifts as busy elves hurry to deliver toys to good boys and girls. On the right, a gingerbread house adorned with ruby-red hearts and snow-like icing serves as the home to The Garden Table, making its holiday debut. This one-of-a-kind dining experience, tucked within the exhibit, features brunch by Sadelle’s and dinner by MICHAEL MINA Bellagio.

North Bed

The North Bed bursts with the sound and spirit of the season as oversized brass instruments, elegant bells and grand red-and-green drums set a joyful rhythm above a glistening pond fed by gentle fountains. A gilded storybook invites guests into a world of music, memories and holiday spirit, while nearby LED screens come alive with displays of a holiday train departing the snowy North Pole and traveling through festive MGM Resorts destinations before arriving at Bellagio. The sensory journey continues as delightful holiday music and a seasonal fragrance with notes of orange and warm spices fill the air. Bellagio’s bespoke “Bella” holiday candle is available for guests to purchase at the Giardini Store.

East Bed
New to the East Bed, The Bellagio Express, inspired by traditional train ornaments, is conducted by Elvie the Elf as the locomotive carries larger-than-life ornaments and gifts. Guests can walk through the train itself, following a whimsical, walkable path that winds through the display for an up-close experience. Billowing clouds of baby’s breath rise from the train’s smokestack and fill the air among red and white crystal snowflakes while decorative trees and vibrant poinsettias grace the bed beneath

South Bed

Guests are greeted by an impressive nutcracker standing proudly at the center of the South Bed, his hat crowned with a golden Bellagio “B.” Surrounding him, four rotating toy soldiers march to the drumbeats of the season, bringing the bed to life with a delightful sense of movement. On the right, Billy the Elf rides a charming white rocking horse that sways gently back and forth. Beneath the twinkle of magnificent bells, shimmering ornaments and beautifully wrapped presents complete the gleeful scene.

The Garden Table

For the first time, guests can experience The Garden Table within the Conservatory’s holiday display. Set inside a charming gingerbread house, the table immerses visitors in the heart of the Conservatory’s festive wonderland, with brunch service from Sadelle’s at $145 per person and dinner from MICHAEL MINA Bellagio at $195 per person.

Reservations are required. To book and find more information, call 702.693.7075 or go online.

Peppermint Express
The Peppermint Express is back, offering holiday-inspired treats crafted by the Bellagio Pastry Team. Assorted sweets and beverages are available for purchase in the Conservatory alcove behind the South Bed, across from the OMEGA Boutique, from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. daily. Menu items include holiday cookies, peppermint meringue, chocolate candies, holiday nougat, popcorn, drip coffee and hot chocolate.

Sustainability at the Conservatory
Water used in Bellagio’s Conservatory and Botanical Gardens comes from on-site underground wells that use rain and recycled water from the resort, avoiding the use of municipal potable water. The water in the Conservatory is also recycled throughout the exhibit and reused at the resort. Bellagio’s water conservation efforts are part of MGM Resorts International’s overall sustainability commitment.

At the conclusion of each display, plants and botanical material without remaining viable life are separated for collection by a local composting facility. The organic waste is made into compost products to help improve the environment. This method of recycling keeps thousands of pounds of waste out of local landfills and turns it into something that improves the region’s soil, air and water quality.

The Christmas season in St. Augustine is known for its sensational Nights of Lights holiday display. During Nights of Lights, white lights glow from the sidewalks to the rooftops, over the Bridge of Lions and trail through approximately 20 city blocks in St. Augustine’s Historic District. This beloved celebration is often described as dazzling, spectacular, amazing, and enchanting.

Seeing the Nation’s Oldest City aglow with more than three million white lights is an unforgettable holiday experience that, over the past 32 years, has become a cherished tradition for hundreds of thousands of visitors. Since 1994, the city has embraced this festive atmosphere, inspired by the Spanish custom of placing a white candle in windows during the Christmas season.

Often recognized as one of the best holiday light displays in the world, St. Augustine’s Nights of Lights begins with Light-Up! Night on November 15 in the Plaza de la Constitución, and stays lit through January 14, 2026.

The official lighting ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m., when a switch is flipped and millions of sparkling white lights outline public and private buildings, bridges, trees, and landmarks throughout St. Augustine’s Historic District.

Weeks of preparation go into the illuminations. City workers string more than 12 miles of lights in the Plaza alone, adorn Victorian lamp posts with red ribbons and fresh wreaths, drape evergreen garlands on public buildings, and decorate the city’s Christmas tree—a 25-foot fir from Sugar Mountain, North Carolina. The design company Angels in the Architecture partners with the city to illuminate the Bayfront, the Bridge of Lions, and other historic sites. Local hotels and businesses join in, ensuring the city glows in unison.

There are countless ways to enjoy the Nights of Lights. Visitors can stroll through the Historic District, take a trolley or train ride, or see the display from the water. To reduce traffic, the city provides free parking and shuttle service from designated lots outside downtown.

For those exploring on foot, favorite stops include the Christmas tree in the Plaza de la Constitución, the Lightner Museum, and the Bridge of Lions—all perfect photo spots. Several tour companies offer guided walking and cart tours that weave history, fun and stories with holiday magic. Participate in fun holiday events throughout the city, including the Christmas Experience at Villa Zorayda. For a bird’s-eye view, climb the 219 steps of the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum.

With nearly 7 million annual visitors and only 6,000 residents, Big Bear Lake stands as a powerful symbol of how tourism can both challenge and strengthen small mountain communities.

Now, in a pivotal moment for responsible tourism, Visit Big Bear has joined Kind Traveler’s Every Stay Gives Back™ program, a statewide responsible travel initiative supported by Visit California that empowers travelers to make a tangible, positive impact on the communities they visit – helping destinations thrive in balance with nature.

Why Now: Travelers Demand More Purposeful Trips

Recent research underscores a profound shift in traveler expectations:

  • According to Booking.com’s 2025 Travel & Sustainability Report, 73% of travelers say they want the money they spend to go back into the local community, while 84% say sustainability influences their travel decisions.
  • The MMGY 2025 Portrait of American Travelers® study similarly reports that Americans are traveling more in 2025 but are increasingly prioritizing sustainability and experiential value, even amid rising costs.

In a time when climate action and community resilience are being tested worldwide, this partnership reflects a growing movement of destinations stepping up to ensure tourism is not only sustainable – but regenerative.

A Statewide Model for Responsible Travel

The Visit Big Bear partnership builds upon Kind Traveler’s statewide collaboration with Visit California, whose leadership has activated a growing network of nine destination partners — from Los Angeles Tourism, Visit Oceanside, Visit Greater Palm Springs, Sonoma County Tourism, and Visit San Luis Obispo, to Love Catalina Island Tourism Authority, Visit Berkeley, and beyond.

Together, these destinations — alongside more than 100 lodging and nonprofit partners throughout the state — are transforming travel into a financial force for good, directly supporting environmental restoration, community well-being, disaster recovery, and animal welfare across California.

Since launching in September 2023, the Every Stay Gives Back program has raised over $1.5 million in donations for community and environmental causes, including marine mammal care, forest cleanups, youth education, and ocean conservation — all transparently tracked through Kind Traveler’s Impact Dashboards, which make giving visible and measurable.

How Every Stay Gives Back in Big Bear

Through this new collaboration, travelers staying with participating Big Bear Lake lodging partners will support local causes with every overnight stay. A portion of each booking will support either:

  • Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo, which rehabilitates and releases injured or orphaned wildlife while providing lifelong sanctuary for those unable to survive in the wild; or
  • Care For Big Bear, a community-wide effort encouraging stewardship through trail and shoreline cleanups, dark-sky preservation, and educational programs that protect the area’s natural beauty.

Even small actions make a big difference: a $10 donation can feed a hawk for three days or fund supplies for a community trail cleanup along Big Bear Lake.

“Travelers today want their presence to matter,” said Jessica Blotter, CEO & Co-Founder of Kind Traveler. “Data from Booking.com and MMGY shows that travelers are not only more aware of their footprint—they’re actively seeking ways to make their trips meaningful. But awareness alone isn’t enough. Impact has to be easy, transparent, and built into the travel experience itself.”

That’s exactly what the Every Stay Gives Back™ partnership in Big Bear delivers: a simple, measurable way for travelers to turn overnight stays into tangible good for wildlife, nature, and community.

Travis Scott, CEO of Visit Big Bear, agrees. “With nearly seven million visitors arriving in a community of just six thousand, every act of stewardship matters,” he said. “This partnership gives our guests a way to directly protect the mountain landscapes and wildlife they come here to enjoy. It’s about turning appreciation into action.”

Big Bear Lodging Partners Giving Back

Participating lodging partners include:

  • A Chalet – Rustic to luxury cabins supporting Care for Big Bear and local hospitality internships.
  • Big Bear Lakefront Cabins – Lakeside retreats supporting Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo.
  • Sessions Retreat & Hotel – A wellness-inspired lodge giving back to Care for Big Bear.
  • Awesome Vacation Homes – Boutique rentals donating to Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo.
  • Big Bear Vacations – The destination’s longest-running rental company supporting Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo.
  • Kind Cabineer – A woman-and-veteran-owned cabin collection supporting Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo.

This collaboration marks a milestone in California’s leadership in sustainable tourism, demonstrating how local communities, state agencies, and private partners can work together to create measurable, positive change.

Kind Traveler and Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (Los Angeles Tourism) have joined forces to empower travelers to raise funds for wildfire relief through Kind Traveler’s Every Stay Gives Back (ESGB) program. In just a few short months, and with the support of nine leading Los Angeles hotel partners, the program has already generated more than $173,000 in direct relief for wildfire survivors through The Change Reaction’s Wildfire Direct Giving Fund. With momentum building, the initiative is on track to raise half a million dollars by the end of January 2026, offering a lifeline to families still grappling with the devastating financial impacts of the January 2025 wildfires – including displacement, job loss, and the ongoing struggle to rebuild their lives.

“With more than $1.5 million in donations raised in 24 months since the launch of Kind Traveler’s Every Stay Gives Back model, it’s proven that tourism can be a powerful force for disaster recovery, community healing, and ecosystem restoration,” said Jessica Blotter, CEO & Co-Founder of Kind Traveler. “By channeling the economic strength of every hotel stay directly into local communities, we’re able to deliver immediate relief while also helping destinations rebuild stronger and more resilient.”

Echoing that sentiment, Adam Burke, President & CEO of Los Angeles Tourism, emphasized the program’s importance for the city: “The tourism industry is one of the most powerful economic drivers in Los Angeles, and with that strength comes a responsibility to support our communities in times of crisis. This program embodies what our industry stands for, harnessing the impact of travel to deliver immediate relief and lasting resilience to Angelenos. Supporting initiatives like Every Stay Gives Back isn’t an add-on for us; it’s part of the DNA of Los Angeles Tourism and reflects our commitment to ensuring tourism benefits both visitors and residents alike.”

Every Stay Supports The Change Reaction’s Wildfire Direct Giving Fund

The participating leading Los Angeles hotels, including many of the city’s most celebrated luxury properties, are supporting The Change Reaction with every hotel stay. Through this initiative, $1 from every hotel night is donated to The Change Reaction’s Wildfire Relief Program, regardless of the booking method, to help fund microgrants for wildfire survivors in L.A. County. 100% of funds go directly into the hands of those who need it most. From replacing lost essential items to supporting temporary housing and emergency expenses, travel dollars help restore dignity and stability for wildfire survivors in L.A. County.

Recent research underscores travelers’ growing desire to make a difference: According to Booking.com’s 2025 Travel & Sustainability Report, 73% of travelers want the money they spend to go back into the local community, while 84% say sustainability influences their travel decisions. Through Kind Traveler’s Every Stay Gives Back program, these values translate into measurable action and transparent community impact.

Impact You Can See: Travelers Can Track Their Positive Footprint

Every dollar is measured, and guests can track the impact of every stay through traveler-friendly impact dashboards. These dashboards ensure transparency and foster connection and education around regenerative tourism, encouraging travelers to travel kindly with every trip they book. Hotel lobbies feature wood plaques with QR codes that link to Impact Dashboards, providing guests with a transparent and educational view of the positive impact of their stays.

Together, these efforts are redefining how tourism can serve as a rapid-response recovery tool while also creating long-term benefits for communities across the state.

Los Angeles Continues to be a Leader in Sustainable Travel

Los Angeles offers 75 miles of coastline and more than 550 miles of public hiking and biking trails, including Griffith Park, the nation’s largest municipal park. The city also leads the nation in solar power and electric vehicle infrastructure and operates the country’s largest fleet of green buses, with extensive bike paths and expanding Metro lines connecting its neighborhoods. From Koreatown’s food scene to Malibu’s coastal trails, and from world-class museums Downtown to epic plant-based dining options throughout the city, travelers experience a city where culture, community, and sustainability come together.

See The Impact & Travel Kindly

By simply choosing to stay at one of these properties, every guest directly contributes to wildfire recovery and community resilience, helping Angelenos rebuild their lives while leaving a positive footprint with each trip. Some vacations feel like they came from an old family photo album. Crisp autumn days, scenic walks, and unplanned treats that become the highlight of the day. That nostalgic feeling is alive and well in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Affordable, family-friendly, and full of timeless charm, this riverfront town invites you to experience fall the way it used to be. Whether it’s quiet time outdoors, a slow afternoon by the river, or a laid-back day in town, Clarksville offers simple moments that feel familiar and refreshing.

A Day on the Trails

Some of the best memories start with a trail, a packed lunch, and nowhere else to be. In Clarksville, places like Rotary Park offer colorful walking and biking paths, playgrounds, and grassy spaces perfect for letting kids roam and spreading out a blanket under the trees. Bring along a thermos of soup, slice of cake, and a refreshing beverage, and you have everything you need for a classic fall picnic.

Dunbar Cave State Park offers easy walking trails surrounded by natural beauty. Along the way, watch the birds and turtles, pause for a family photo under the trees, or visit the entrance to the cave itself, home to ancient Native American art that adds a quiet sense of wonder. The cave contains drawings created centuries ago, believed to have spiritual meaning and used in sacred traditions. It is a place where adventure, reflection, and together time come naturally.

To discover even more outdoor spots, download the Clarksville app, which features 20 themed challenges across the city. The Adventure Outside challenge focuses on parks, trails, and scenic hotspots, making it easy to explore Clarksville’s natural side at your own pace.

Float, Fish, and Make a Memory

Mild autumn temperatures ensure that water can be part of a perfect day any time of the year, and Clarksville has plenty of ways to enjoy it. Liberty Park offers a marina, fishing pond, and green space with pavilions and picnic tables, plus a playground and dog park for added fun. McGregor Park, located along the riverwalk, has open lawns, benches, and a five-mile riverfront path for walking, boat watching, or enjoying a quiet picnic under the trees. This timeless kind of outing can stretch into a full afternoon without ever feeling rushed.

Kayak, canoe, and tube rentals are also available from two outfitters, as long as water temperatures remain warm, offering a chance to paddle or float the Red River and find a quiet bend to float, dip your toes in the water, or fish from the shore.

Step Back in Time for a Day

For families who enjoy history, Historic Collinsville is a must. This 40-acre rural pioneer settlement features restored log homes, a schoolhouse, church, and other buildings from the 1800s, set among Tennessee’s iconic rolling hills. Weekends often include live demonstrations, like blacksmithing, spinning, or candlemaking, that bring the past to life. Kids can explore freely as parents revisit memories of school field trips, slower days, and life without screens.

In downtown, the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center, Tennessee’s largest general-history museum, blends art, science, and local history in a way that connects generations. Children love the interactive play space, bubble cave, and detailed model trains, and grownups can take in rotating art shows and local history displays.

Saturday Morning Antiques, Books and Brunch

A comforting meal together creates family memories that last – and none better than a hearty brunch. Try seasonal menu items in downtown at The Mailroom with leisurely time on the patio overlooking the river. This renovated 1940s post office pays tribute to the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division stationed at Fort Campbell since 1942, with its décor and international entrees.

There is a certain magic in wandering through an antique shop and stumbling on something that reminds you of your grandparents’ living room or your own childhood bedroom. In Clarksville, places like Miss Lucille’s Marketplace, Warehouse 41 Vintage Market, and Beyond Vintage make it easy to lose track of time in the best way.

Spend a lazy Saturday morning browsing vintage books, handmade furniture, and one-of-a-kind decor. Independent bookshops like The Clarksville Bookstore give opportunities to trade screen time for story time. This gem in north Clarksville features sections with every genre, thoughtful gifts, and even a separate plant shop.

Evenings That Feel Like Coming Home

When the sun begins to set and the string lights start to glow, Downtown Clarksville transforms into something quietly magical. Families gather at Downtown Commons for concerts, movies, and year-round activities. People linger on restaurant patios, outside art galleries, and discover new favorite places around every corner.

Dinner might mean eating Southern comfort food from long-established local spots like Liberty Park Grill, known for its riverfront views and hearty plates, or Dock 17, where the laid-back atmosphere pairs perfectly with fried green tomatoes and warm, welcoming service. Catching a show at the Roxy Regional Theatre or listening to live music while sharing a meal brings people together in ways that feel personal and meaningful. These are the kinds of evenings that do not require planning in a town like Clarksville — simply show up and feel welcome.

A Place Where Nostalgic Memories Are Made and Remade

Clarksville is a place to appreciate the moments. Dollars stretch further, kids have room to explore, and small moments turn into lasting memories. Through its rapid growth and new development, the heart of the community remains the same. Homegrown. Welcoming. Full of simple joys. So whether you are chasing memories or making new ones, this fall is the perfect time to visit Clarksville!

Forget the summer gridlock. The real story of America’s national parks is told in September and October, during the “secret season.” This is when the crowds disappear, the weather is perfect and the landscapes transform. The post-Labor Day slump is a traveler’s dream. With schools back in session, parks like Zion, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon are no longer at peak capacity. This means a more intimate and enjoyable experience.

The intense summer heat subsides, making hiking and outdoor activities not just possible, but genuinely pleasant. Think crisp, cool air and golden sunshine. Wildlife, in general, is more active in the cooler temperatures, providing unparalleled viewing opportunities. Here are a handful of great national park vacation ideas.

Saddle and Paddle Yellowstone: Flying Pig Adventures’ three-night Yellowstone tour gives guests the opportunity to experience the park like never before. The thrill of witnessing one of nature’s most iconic environments, tackling rough terrain on horseback, and battling class III rapids in a raft cannot be found anywhere else. From fly fishing to horseback rides and Yellowstone whitewater, guests will be talking about this unique experience for years to come.

Cycle Glacier National Park: The Big Sky meets six days of big smiles on Escape Adventures’ epic Going-to-the-Sun Road bike trip in Glacier National Park. Based in Montana’s 1,583-square-mile Glacier National Park, with its 375 historic properties and six historic landmarks, riders will cycle into some of North America’s most breathtaking landscapes, including Going-to-the-Sun Road. At each stop, each slow pass, guests will learn a little more about the “Crown of the Continent” ecosystem.
In Big Sky, Montana, The Wilson Hotel by Marriott serves as a home base for adventure year-round.

Alaska Fjord ExplorerOn Adventure Life’s Kenai Explorer tour, spend seven days amid the breathtaking landscape and wildlife of Kenai Fjords National Park and Seward, Alaska. Enjoy nature walks and paddling from a beachfront lodge with glacier views, keeping an eye out for wildlife like whales, Steller sea lions, otters, puffins and more, then visit the coastal town of Seward and go dogsledding or step on nearby Exit Glacier. Finish with an Alaska Rail ride to Anchorage.

Wyoming Cowboy Retreat: At Ranchlands’ 80,000-acre Paintrock Canyon Ranch, guests will immerse themselves in ranch life, explore the surrounding areas on horseback, fly fish, hike and experience the unique landscape of Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains. Accommodations are designed for guests to be as close to nature as possible, but with all the comforts of home. Large, safari-style tents are stylishly furnished with full-sized beds, bedside tables, dressers and chairs. Meals are prepared by a private chef and incorporate Ranchlands’ beef, local produce and dairy whenever possible. The ranch makes a great basecamp for a Yellowstone National Park adventure.

Bryce & Zion by MTB: Soaring red spires and ancient citadels of rich Navajo sandstone give way to haunting hoodoos and curving rock arches – a geologist’s dream and a mountain biker’s paradise. The rides on this six-day Escape Adventures tour offer swift lines that wind through deep alpine meadows and aspen forests only to spill out onto wide mesas and buttes. The world-famous trails of Red Canyon’s Thunder Mountain, Cassidy and Casto Canyon symbolize but a few of this tour’s many highlights.

Grand Teton Glamping: Fireside Resort offers luxuriously outfitted tiny house rental units designed by Wheelhaus a short distance from Grand Teton National Park, making it the perfect basecamp for summer adventures. Experience the thrill of whitewater rafting, enjoy beautiful scenery and wildlife while hiking through the Tetons or revel in the wonder of Yellowstone National Park’s geothermal features.

Arizona Ranch Getaway: Step back in time at White Stallion Ranch, outside Tucson, Arizona, on the edge of Saguaro National Park. Originally built in the 1900s as a cattle ranch, the True family has been welcoming guests to White Stallion for 60 years. While there, enjoy horseback riding, hiking, fat-tire biking, shooting, archery, a weekly rodeo, charming accommodations, Southwestern dining and more with the towering cactuses of the Sonoran Desert as the backdrop.

As the world’s first AI-powered, end-to-end road trip planner, AdventureGenie makes it easier and more exciting than ever to discover the Centennial State. Colorado is more than just the Rocky Mountains – the state is richly diverse with deep canyons, rolling sand dunes, glistening rivers and expansive rolling plains. From accessible trails to hikes of various distances and difficulties and amazing scenic drives, these five Colorado national parks are full of geographical marvels and prehistoric wonders.

Grand Canyon’s North Rim: Escape Adventures invites adventurers and families to discover the cool, high-altitude sanctuary of the Grand Canyon’s North Rim on an unforgettable five-day mountain biking and camping expedition. Revered by hikers and cyclists for its breathtaking vistas and gently rolling, lung-expanding terrain, the North Rim offers a unique and less-crowded perspective of this natural wonder.

Big Sky Luxury Adventure: In Big Sky, Montana, The Wilson Hotel serves as a home base for adventure year-round. In fall, golden aspens and cottonwoods light up the mountainsides and river bottoms, and there are opportunities to hike, bike, fish or watch for wildlife in the forestlands near town and Yellowstone National Park. At the end of the day, The Wilson offers accommodations that blend modern comfort with Montana style just steps from dining at Block 3 Kitchen & Bar and more in Big Sky Town Center.

E-Bike Tour of CanyonlandsUtah’s 100-mile White Rim Trail in Canyonlands National Park comes on like a natural rollercoaster, looping in and out of a multicolored spires, arches, buttes and mesas carved by the Green and Colorado Rivers. A primitive trail framed by blooming cactuses below and snowcapped mountains above, the White Rim Trail loops around and below the Island in the Sky mesa and provides expansive views of the surrounding area. Guests will spend the majority of this four-day mountain biking and camping tour riding the famous off-road route, while detouring to admire secret passages, hidden slot canyons, natural rock arches and ancient Puebloan ruins.
